About
The Technology Club is a commercial extension of the Soul Proprietor Guide's free Technology Module. The Soul Proprietor Guide is a 220 Club Core resource.
One of the creatives related to the 220 Club, The Soul Proprietor Guide and this Technology Club got his start with technology in the mid 1980s. He got his start with self-employment shortly there after, and he's been fully self employed in Small Business since 2000.
He credits his understanding and use of basic and advanced Technology as the only reason he's been able to stay in Business as a Small Business person during some incredibly turbulent commercial times since the 1990s.
Since the early 2000's he's been trying to share small pieces of his Black Book with interested individuals. Sometimes the sharing was free. Other times it was for a coaching or consulting fee. He never felt great after the engagements because he knew the tech he shared would be shifting within a few years. Without more support down the road, the solutions he was providing were always temporary and fleeting.
In 2014 he engaged in an information exchange with a wellness professional. They started to formally document all the information that was shared and they started to migrate everything possible towards Google's platform. The timing was perfect for blending small business ideas with some maturing Business tools Google had been offering since the mid 2000's with mixed success.
The technology portion of that information exchange is now found as the Model Office information in this website.
The information they created is both broad and deep. Hand-holding others through this is not necessarily an "inexpensive" process at the hourly rates these two charge. Everyone needs a varying level of support and most are extremely cautious and even traumatized from past technology suggestions that didn't pan out well. All of this makes pricing education and support for others very difficult.
Both wanted a way to share this information with others in a low cost way and in a way where they weren't pinned in as Coaches or Consultants. They wanted a way where others could take in and digest the material at their own rate. They wanted a way where others could try to use those they trusted for technology support as their own guides for a path laid out by a third party.
After mulling over various configurations of Tutoring, Coaching and Consulting themselves, they eventually they landed on this Technology Club idea. It seems to be the balance they were seeking.
Those with advanced Technology skills only need cliff notes and pointers and they will be on their way. Others who need more support have a path to follow and they can choose the level of tutoring, coaching or consulting from others that works for them.
Join us in this adventure. Good things are sure to come. After many years of waiting and watching with some technology torture slipped in, the timing is right for making that final shift to the clouds.
