Web Based Text Editors
Finding a web based text editor that can access files in GDrive is a big deal...
There are two types of editors
Type 1 -- has the folder and file system menu on the left of the Text editor -- a necessity for high volume work.
Type 2 - Does NOT have the folder and file list on the left of the text editor
Type 1 options include:
Generally speaking -- Super Neutron Drive looks to be the simpler the way to go... as it lacks the designer bloat of code-anywhere albeit getting into it and getting going may be a little confusing.
BUT all of these options still lack the ability to print in color... and that's a big deal for printed documentation purposes...

Type 1 -- Codeanywhere
Codeanywhere.com -- has a free option for now. Allows for access in Gdrive. It's pretty awesome. ON the surface one would think this is the end all be all, but it has some problems...
So, with these updates found 12/2017, 2 and 3 no longer issues, but, 1, 4 and 5 are the issues...
Lacking now is printing support for getting the colors to print...
- Designer Bloat -- they keep adding stuff and futzing. Their default theme is black and my settings for white keep getting reset and each time i need to reset there are more thingys I need to filter thru to reset to my user interface..
- New file creation -- when first used, when creating a new file you couldn't specify the folder -- it went to root and you had to move.. UPDATE as of 12/2017 that now works...although I created one file, it seemed to save and create, but then it disappeared. Then I did another an it worked. You may have to manually do an initial file save with something in it for the new file creation to stick...
- Clone function does not work -- copying and pasting a file into the same directory with a new name - aka cloning in their language -- just doesnt work at all. Nothing happens. Support ticket was sent in in late 2016. Got notice they were working on it and it was fixed and rolling out and never did... To create a new file you have to copy an existing into a folder other than where you want it... let it land. rename it then move it. UPDATE as of 12/2017 Their new file creation function also was not working at the folder level -- it is now.. so this is less of an issue...
- Can't print... -- they do not support printing -- if you try to use the browser print it cuts off at one page.. a big deal...
- Folder Specific for Start point and multiple folder start points -- this uses the root of google drive for a start point (the one below gives more options)

Type 1 - Super Neutron Drive
12/19/2017 -- Just found this... this is some creative work. Getting into it and getting going is a little confusing -- as it launches as a chrome app downloaded app (not really sure) -- and my first install seemed to burp so when I clicked on it it didn't behave as it should -will leave more info here later...-
BUT this does everything codeanywhere does without the designer bloat and it allows for a folder specific start point -- and it allows for multiple folder start points!!
The only big thing lacking now is printing support for getting the colors to print...
RE Printing -- Just spoke w/ developer. He's working on a new version that is not a chrome app . V1 was web based, v2 was this chrome app (and google discontinuing support). V3 due out in beta in Jan 2018 is web based and will support printing!

Type 2
- Drive Notepad -- get it in the chrome store - you can view and edit fine - can not print.. only browser controlled...
- Javascript Edity -- basically the same as drive notepade but wrapped in googles script editor wrapper so you can see the file name and such in the interface... This is only a small part of the Edity family of stuff which looks complex for what he's trying to do... Pretty, but complex.
